Change Management

Change management is a very interesting and complicated issue for so many organizations. Machiavelli once stated, "There is nothing more difficult to plan, more doubtful of success, nor more dangerous to manage than the creation of a new system. For the initiator has the enmity of all who would profit by the preservation of the old institutions, and merely lukewarm defenders in those who should gain by the new ones." (Gardner J.) One statistical support for this claim is that “over the past decade approximately 84% of United States companies underwent at least one major business transformation the top three change programs were information technology, business process re-engineering, business strategy development. But 75% of all transformational efforts fail and 50-75% of re-engineering projects fail.” (Gardner J.)
